Impact of anastrozole use on the prediction of final height in male adolescents: a retrospective cohort

Introduction: The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact use anastrozole (ANZ) in monotherapy or associated with growth hormone (GH) predicted final height (PFH) and nearfinal (NFH) male adolescents PEF below target familiar (TH). Methods: This is a retrospective cohort. Data were obtained from medical records pediatric endocrinology service. Results: 75 patients between 11 14 years old participated Treatment ANZ occurred for 1 year 38.7%, 2 40.0%, 3 21.3%. 76.0% used GH+ANZ, 24.0% alone. TH PFH at different treatment times showed statistically significant difference, regardless not GH. group alone mean increase 5.73cm, 7.60cm, 7.15cm after 1, 2, ANZ. In GH+ANZ group, 6.82cm, 10.27cm, 7.44cm. Twenty-seven reached NFH, these, we observed concerning baseline 4.68 cm total 5.55 group. Conclusions: effectively increased NFH TH. However, subgroup concomitant GH had better outcomes.
